Act 1084 requires school districts to implement policy and procedures regarding the use of physical restraints with students. However, Act 1084 also emphasizes the need for school districts to provide positive behavior supports to students with challenging behaviors. This may leave districts with questions related to how to access resources to meet this need. The Arkansas Behavior Support Specialists will explore resources, tools and professional learning opportunities to help school teams implement evidence-based behavior interventions.
